It`s complex spaceframe, finespun from more than 200 single pieces of tube gave the Maserati Tipo 60/61 his legendary nickname “Birdcage”. Maserarti mastermind Giulio Alfiere, who integrated a spaceframe of barely 30 kg succeeded here a real stroke of genius.

Under the tight aluminim body, the Tipo 61 is powered by a 2.9 liter four-cylinder in-line-engine which brings 250 hp on the road. Only 23 units of the Tipo 60/61 were made during the years of 1959 through 1961. The white model with blue lengthwise stripes, is historicaly based on the champion car of Lucky Casner`s Camoradi-Team. This model personifies high class model making art.
